The TSA 500 is a 14” (350 mm) battery-powered cut-off machine in the STIHL AP System. Designed for professionals working in construction, hardscaping and pipework, it’s an ideal choice for processing material such as steel, bricks, concrete, paving stone, natural stone, reinforced concrete and rebar. Part of the AP System of battery tools, the TSA 500 uses the power of 2 AP batteries for its 72 volt motor for exceptional cutting performance. The cut-off machine comes as standard with a powerful 14” / 350 mm composite resin cutting wheel which has a very high cutting performance, however we recommend fitting the TSA 500 with a D-SB90 diamond cutting wheel for longer and more intensive jobs. The TSA 500 has cutting performance that is comparable to the TS 500i petrol cut-off machine thanks to its impressive mechanical output of up to 4.2 kW. It means you will have petrol grade performance with all the benefits of battery power, such as lower vibrations, no emissions and no idling between cuts. Making cuts with the TSA 500 is made easier too thanks to the narrow cutting kerf, which is achieved thanks to the lack of engine vibrations. It increases precision when making cuts, for accurate results at all times, and allows a maximum cutting depth of 4.9" (125 mm). The STIHL magnesium guard can also be adjusted, which improves working conditions and further reduces operator strain. The guard has an integrated water guide which removes dirt in a targeted manner and offers a good view of the cutting wheel during operation. The TSA 500 has excellent ergonomics and is easy to handle. It is well balanced thanks to the handle arrangement which, in combination with the battery and motor placement, leads to lower fatigue working. The built-in electronic interface on the control handle provides you with machine information such as charge status and which working mode you have selected (speed level 1 to 3). It is fitted with a powerful EC motor which operates almost wear-free, is quiet and has smooth running and low vibrations. This allows the tool to operate at optimum performance throughout the entire battery charge. Fitted with a STIHL magnetic filter which passes cooling air through several magnets, protecting the internal components from metal dust and particles. These magnets can be easily removed for fast cleaning, ensuring a long-service life. This tool is fitted with a fast-stop brake that recuperates energy into the battery. After releasing the trigger, the wheel is stationary in less than 4 seconds which loads the energy from the TSA 500 back into the battery, which increases your working time. As the TSA 500 is battery-powered and has zero emissions, it can also be used indoors. The TSA 500 must be used with the AP 500 S battery for maximum performance. If you use an AP 200 S or AP 300 S, there will be a reduction in performance. On a full charge with the AP 500 S, the TSA 500 has a working time of 20 – 40 minutes.
